除了硬件更新外，新 iPad Air 还有某些配置被砍了：
仅针对 13 英寸机型，上一代扬声器支持 “横向立体声扬声器，支持 2 倍低音效果” ，这一代变为仅支持 “横向立体声扬声器“。
11 英寸机型比上一代轻 2g，13 英寸机型比上一代轻 1g.
全机型不再支持实体 SIM 卡，仅支持 eSIM. 因此对于国行设备，仅有一个运营商可以选择 - 中国联通。
